Japanese beer No.1 choice in South Korea

Japanese beer has topped import sales in South Korea for 2016 according to data published by The Korea Herald.

Japanese beer was ranked first with a 21.5% share in 2016, followed by German beer at 19.9% and then Belgium with 11.3%. Chinese beer accounted for 7.1% of the total imported product, while US beer did not feature in the list.

According to The Korea Herald, the popularity of imported beer has been ‘soaring’, accounting for 51.1% of it’s total beer sales this year. This figure has grown from 34.5% in 2015 and 40% in 2016.
