Earlier in the summer Japan restricted the import policies of three chemicals used by South Korean tech companies such as Samsung.
The new restrictions came in response to a series of South Korean court rulings forcing Japanese firms to pay for forced labour during WWII.
The result of Japan’s chemical restriction has been a nation-wide boycott by South Korea on a variety of Japanese products, including beer.
According to the Korea Trade Statistics Promotion Institute, Japanese beer dropped 97% in terms of exports to South Korea, a country which values Japanese beer the most after its native brews.
