Ten global beverage companies have joined forces under a new industry-wide consortium designed to help accelerate renewable energy adoption across the industry’s supply chain.

Constellation has bought a minority share in Charles Joly’s Crafthouse Cocktails, a pre-mixed drinks company. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.

The board of Accolade Wines has announced that CEO Troy Christensen will be leaving his position today (November 30).

Troy Christensen, Accolade Wines' American CEO, is not a man encumbered with traditional values. Wine may traditionally come in 75cl bottles with a cork closure but what interests him is the move to pouches, bag-in-box and ready-to-serves (RTS).

After 14 years with McGuigan Wines, Paul Schaafsma, Accolade Wines’ general manager for the UK, Ireland, Africa, Middle East and South America, is acquainting himself with the company and the clock is ticking on the 90 days he has to come up with a strategic plan.

Constellation Brands has purchased the remaining 50.1% of Italian wine brand Ruffino from MPF International.

Constellation Brands has added Keith Wandell, president and chief executive officer of Harley- Davidson to its board.

Constellation Brands has named Jay Wright, currently president of its North American division, as its new chief operating officer (COO), effective immediately. In his new role, Wright will oversee marketing, sales and operations across the company. This is the first time Constellation Brands has appointed such a role and a statement from the company said “the creation of the COO role is the latest step in the company's evolution to further refine and streamline its organisation”.

Constellation Wines Australia and Europe has been renamed Accolade Wines following the completed acquisition of an 80% share in the company by Australian equity group Champ.

Constellation Brands, hitherto, the world's leading wine company, has announced that it has sold its Australian and UK business, (Constellation Wines Australia and Europe, CWAE), to CHAMP, an Australian private equity group.
