The rise in prosecco has made Australian Vintage rethink its sparkling wine offering, according to CEO Neil McGuigan.

Neil McGuigan, recently voted the ‘World’s Best Winemaker (IWSC), wants the UK government to change the banding under which duty on wine is set.

What makes this job interesting is going out, meeting, interviewing people and finding out what makes them tick. That along with visiting vineyards, wineries, distilleries and, to a lesser extent, breweries to find out what they are up to, is what makes the likes of me get out of bed in the morning.

Australian Vintage is installing and commissioning a spinning cone column with a view to introducing a new generation of lower alcohol wines next year.

The International Wine Challenge held is annual bash at the Hilton on London’s Park Lane last night at which all its trophy winners were announced.
