Bibendum and PLB merge

Bibendum Wine has announced that it will merge with drinks importer PLB Group. The union of the two UK drinks companies will form The Bibendum PLB Group.

UK drinks industry figures gathered for the Benevolent Roof Gardens Party last week to celebrate the end of the London Wine Fair 2014. They raised more than £10,000 for their trade charity.

Vergelegen, one of South Africa’s best wine producers, has unveiled a new wine, DNA.

Events firm Brintex has voiced optimism ahead of this year’s London International Wine Fair (LIWF) and Distil despite the absences of Pernod Ricard, Percy Fox (Diageo’s UK wine division) and PLB.

Australian winery Brown Brothers has appointed Rachel Herrig as brand manager to “drive the brand’s development in the UK and Ireland”.

UK importer PLB has been appointed by Rioja winery Bodegas Navajas, with effect from March this year.
